    BOLTING ETHICS

    May 18th, 2011

As we explore new canyons and find new trips different techniques are going to be used to descend. Some of us like to bang pegs into the rock. Others prefer to use knot chocks and tat and other like to Drill. All of these techniques are fine until we end up using the canyon a lot. If were leaving gear behind its important to leave them in the right place for the future and make sure they are not to obtrusive on the eye.

Over the next block of training we will be discussing Bolting ethics and coming up with some guidelines to put onto the UKCG website in order to be responsible. Anybody who isn’t attending the courses please feel free to comment so that these can be taken into consideration.
