Welcome to UK Canyon Guides

Canyoning is a relatively new sport in the UK, but believe it or not the UK has some fantastic canyons in some incredible locations, and many are still waiting to be discovered.

There has been a long history of gorge walking in outdoor centres across the UK, and more recently several commercial companies are providing canyoning trips to their clients. With a rapid increase in interest in the sport, UKCG has been formed to provide a resource for canyoners all over the UK, and to provide training and information in the current best practices to recreational canyoners and professional guides alike.

As a non-profit making organisation all funds from courses and membership fees are used to develop and increase awareness of the sport in the UK.

We Aim to :-

  • Provide comprehensive training and assessment courses giving the industry a structured and usable training programme.
  • Provide rigging solutions for canyons.
  • Bring together the UK canyoning community.
  • Provide technical advise to outdoor companies.
  • Organise workshops and meets.
  • Create an online canyon and gorge walking guide.
  • Develop awareness of the sport across the Uk.
